DJ'in along!

I'm on a DJ roll! Yesterday I made four more DJ blocks.

Top left: A4 Courtney's Stethoscope. Top right: G2 Mohawk Trail. Bottom left: K13 Brandon's Star. Bottom right: D1 Alison's Guiding Light.

A couple of them are slightly more complex than the last four I made, but still not too bad. I tried a technique I've never used before with the two red ones. I used freezer paper templates. Ohhh my, if I had only tried it when I made the last DJ, the process would have been so much easier! I love it, and will make so many more using freezer paper.

I'm going to make a few more blocks this afternoon, and I really can't wait!

This morning Amy and I took Cameron to his playgroup Christmas party. It was at a local recreation centre, and they had all sorts of fun things to do, like tunnels, foam shapes for them to climb over, cubby houses, a trampoline ... ohhh, just so much stuff! Cam had a super time, and then Santa came out and had gifts for all the kids. When we got home and were having lunch, I asked Cam if he had fun and did he like Santa's gift. He told me "It was fun, but can we go and see the real Santa? That Santa wasn't the real one, he was Elijah's Dad"

I had to giggle ... you sure can't fool kids!

I love using freezer paper templates! Paper piecing is something I try to avoid, lol, plus I wanted to hand sew the whole DJ. I think it makes it very fast and accurate!!

Still wish I was as productive as you, lol! Maybe when the girls are at school, huh?

THe DJ blocks are very cute. I bought a roll of freezer paper but still haven't tried the technique. It sounds like fun.

Welcome back to DJ-ing :-)
I use a lot of freezer paper, for just about everything with DJ - foundation paper piecing (need no pins) and for templates.
Your blocks looks very nice !

I'm watching your DJ progress with great interest. I have several friends who are DJers and they are INSANE and OBSESSED. (One has even traveled to Vermont to see the original Jane's house.) Are you going to get crazy like that?? LOL

Your DJ blocks are wonderful. Three years ago I had aspirations to do a DJ quilt but it quickly faded. Someday!

Cute Santa story!

You work so fast Tazzie. Are you DJ blocks by hand? Do you cut out a few at a time?

They look great.
