Monday is one of my days off work, and I really got some quality sewing time today. Yesterday I spent some time tidying up the sewing room, so it felt great to work in such a clean space :-)
First up I put together another of the Civil War Quilts blocks I'd not yet made. This one is Block 12 - Louisiana. I've noticed I seem to be selecting a lot of mid range fabrics in these blocks - something I hope I've remedied with the block I'm working on right now.
And then I played around with some things I've wanted to do for a while ... I made some of the string blocks for Bonnie's Roll Roll Cotton Boll quilt. It's on my to do list :-) And then with some if the tiny pieces left over from my NI quilt, I made some 4" Log Cabin blocks. There are a great many more of these in my future I hope :-)
And just for fun, I lightly quilted and bound one of my reject blocks from my NI quilt. It's block 8 - one of the blocks that has the 1/2" finished HST's. I thought just for fun I'd give it away if anyone is interested - it'd make a cute mug mat. If you'd like it, just send me a comment. If I get a few comments, I'll use a random number generator to select someone. How fun! :-)
**Thank you for your comments - Subee Sews' name has been drawn to receive my reject block :-)**

Delightful.
That made a gorgeous mug rug! (Trying to figure out why it was a reject!) Don't feel bad if you'd rather send it to someone in your own country. Postage can get crazy, I know. :)
Sounds like a very productive day off. I'm hoping to start the CW blocks soon. Life keeps getting in the way.
Watching you (through your blog) put your NI quilt together was such a pleasure to me. Not sure wheather you are willing to post to the USA but I'd love for my name to go in to the drawing. Maybe just the inspiration I need to push me to challenge myself to get better at piecing.
Blessings :o)
Don't you just love productive days like that? The log cabin block reminds me that I should get back to making the ones I started a year ago. I love the NI block and would be honored to win it. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, be still my heart. I adore your NI block in reds and golds. Multiple triangle blocks are my absolute favorites. I might have to try the NI blocks after seeing your! Thanks for posting the wonderful pictures.

Love all of your blocks and fabric choices. Thanks for sharing!
I would love to win your 'mugrug'! It's lovely.
And your NI quilt is just WOW! Maybe, some day....

You did get lots done. Love your civil war block. Hugs
That's a reject??? It's gorgeous! Count me in! We seem to have a lot in common on our "want to do" list, The RRCB is in my future some day, and I've been collecting some scraps...mostly neutral because I can't make up my mind on my color scheme (hence the procrastination!). I love log cabin blocks in any form, and I am enjoying watching everyone make the Civil War blocks. I love the fact that you've tackled NI AND DJ...
In stitches,
Teresa :o)
Thats a pretty impressive reject and it would look great in my studio! I am always impressed with the amount stitching you achieve - well done and keep up to great posts.
I love the colors and shapes in your mug mat...it's fun to use up all the leftovers! I'm now 4 blocks behind on the Civil War quilt, including the block you just finished...you may have inspired me!!

Fun with leftovers! My hand is raised high, very high in the air for the NI mug mat. Good thing I am tall and you can see me clearly behind everyone else :)
Love your mug mat! I also love Masons Vista dishes. I have most of what's left of my grandmother's set. I remember fondly the days many years ago when I would visit with her an bring her coffee in a
vista cup. We would suck on sugar cubes while we chatted. Happy memories.
Of course I'd love to win it! Totally understand if you don't want to ship to Canada though! Hope all is well and you're staying warm with your quilting!

Such a darling, mini doll quilt, I couldn't bear to put my tea mug on it!
Oh, Tazzie, what fun it would be to have this and think of you and your great undertaking! Wish my rejects looked so good.

I would love a little Tazzie in my life! Your blog is so fun and inspirational - Terri in BC
I would love the opportunity to own that cute little "reject". It's marvelous to me. Thank you. Michele G
I can't begin to imagine making 1/2" HSTs... and promise to give that lovely mug rug an excellent home if I'm so lucky to win it! Thanks...
Crossing my fingers here in the US!
Your work is so inspiring. And you get so many things finished.
XOXOXO Subee
Oh. My. Gosh. this is a REJECT? So pretty. This would be a truly inspiring mug rug next to my machine...
Oh please, oh please! I would LOVE this block! You actually inspired me to attempt this quilt on my own. My folks got the book for me for a birthday gift and on a recent shop hop, I purchased dozens of fat quarters and have started stitching! :) Of course, now I want her book, "Just Plain Nuts" :)
Oh Tazzie
Love the reject. I really miss your blocks coming up, but it makes me want to get more of mine done. Yours inspired me do mine all the time. Louisiana looks great also.
Cheers
Sue
I hope that you have many more Mondays that are as productive as this one was!
I have been slowly working on the Civil War blocks as well. I just finished block 12 this week.
I have been visiting and loving the Nearly Insane Quilt - not blogging much though. You have been busy!!!
Have a great week.
Pam
I feel so very honored and very LUCKY to win the reject block.
WHOOHOOO!
Thanks so very much!
XOXOXOXO SubeeSews
