A fun side affect of the blocks I was working on the other day is the waste from the flying geese units makes wonderful half square triangles for my scrap box.
The strips and squares were 3.5". So, with little effort I'm getting a whole bunch of 2.5" HST's. Well ... when I say 'little effort' the trimming is a bit tedious ... but good for when I need something mindless to do :-)
I think I'll have around 100 or so when I'm done.
This morning I'm feeling a little tired ... now, I have to ask ... does anyone else ever dream up a quilt pattern at 2am? I had to get up and sketch it out - I just knew that if I didn't document it right away, it might be gone forever. Seriously ... I must need therapy!

No you don't need therapy, just a handy note pad and pen!

Well, if you need therapy...then so do I!!! I'm always waking up and jotting down ideas in the middle of the night. (I think thats where the best ideas come from.....the middle of the night!)
I have more than once been stymied by a sewing problem, only to dream the solution. I have also dreamed bag patterns. The good thing is that the sewing solutions I dream generally stick in my head longer than a regular dream. =) I think that with something you are passionate about, your brain relaxes at night and works on solutions without you.
No, I don't dream up quilt patterns, but I do wake up at stupid times!
Happy New Year.
Yep, I dream quilts, colours and all sorts, Guess we all need therapy!
Mindless chores are sometimes good! And thinking about quilting at night does keep me awake at night sometimes. I can't stop my mind from thinking about things, especially quilting. I love having extra HSTs around. They do come in handy sometimes! Happy New Year!
My hubby is a song writer and he gets his best melodies in his sleep. He will get up and bring the guitar into the BR and work on his "latest". I bought him a mini-tape recorder that helps a whole lot.
I sew in my sleep. Guess we are geniuses.....
You should check out Nann's HST quilt she made all from stash and cut-offs from other quilts. I was floored with how cool it was! Go see it. (I saw it in real life 2 weeks ago and it was amazing).
