Fabric Depression - Not at all Depressed!

I have grappled with it for a few days, and I've decided I'm going to do it! I'm going to participate in the fabric depression! No fabric for me this month. The reason I've not leapt for it, is because I ordered some fabric from Hancocks on the 21st of last month, and I anticipate it will arrive within the next few days. I'm not sure if that constitutes a breach of my 'fabric diet', but I figure, other than that purchase, I can do this! What do you all think, does that count as last month, or this month?? Thank you so much to Peach for the wonderful graphic!

Yesterday was quilt group, so I took along some hand piecing. We're allowed to bring our machines if we want to, but I feel it's so much more social to do handwork rather than tear along on the machine. Also, Bernie is soooo weighty, and I don't care much to lug her around! We have such a huge quilt group, that I would estimate I only know about one quarter of the women there. I don't know most of the women that attend the Wednesday group, and on the Thursday I go to, I only know about half. It's my mission to get to know all the ladies ... it's going to take me some time!

30's Dear Jane accompanied me along this week, and I managed to hand piece one of the simpler blocks. I made J4 - Adelaine's Apron Strings. It's a cute block. I don't think I hand pieced it last time, but I'm enjoying the hand work this time around.

Last night I did some machine quilting on the Dancing Dolphin quilt. I've used a variegated rayon thread in ocean colours, and I have quilted about two thirds of the main part of the quilt. I've outlined a little of the dolphin, and when I've done some more, I'll take a picture for you. I hope to get the rest of the quilt (apart from the dolphin) quilted today.

No I don't think fabric that you ordered last month should could even if you won't receive it until this month. Especially since you ordered it before you decided to take the challenge. Glad to see you joining us.

receiving fabric is NOT the same as buying fabric. You bought last month, the shipping makes you receive it this month. If you received a present from someone of fabric it wouldn't be buying it this month...

It absolutely counts as last month. After all, it was last month you ordered - or "bought" - it. I also had fabric arrive today - fabric I've waited 4 months to order. I ordered it in July before I knew there was going to be a challenge. I'm not counting it!

Nope, fabric purchased last month does not count even if you don't recieve it until this month. Your quite welcome for the graphic!

Think that really WAS the ends of someone's apron strings, snipped off, unfolded and stitched down in an X on Jane's sampler block, because it was the color she needed for that row?

Can't wait to see the dolphin, qulted. :)

I'm sure the fabric you ordered last month doesn't count. I wonder if thrift store fabric counts? I can never pass up nice cottons for almost nothnig at a thrift shop.

Your diet is safe -- that was ordered last month, so those calories don't count!

Great block! Love the daisies!

If it was ordered last month I say it doesn't count! Good luck.
