Everyone loves Hugs & Kisses

It's true isn't it? Everyone loves hugs and kisses! I love the real ones, and I've loved making my hugs and kisses quilt! It won't get much bigger than you see here, possibly a 3" border all around, and that will be it. Little quilts of love don't need to be very big, so I'll just wait to hear back from the coordinator.

I really can't thank Tonya enough for giving me such special attention, and helping us all out with such wonderful directions. It's been a great learning experience for me, the realisation that there are rules, but there are times when you can break the rules! Super fun stuff!

I didn't end up doing any more of my applique yesterday. I just was not in the mood for anything fiddly. Instead I forced myself to do some chores ... and I also did some more cutting toward my goal for this month. I have done a lot of cutting toward a scrap project I would like to do in the not too distant future. It's from Bonnie's website of course, in the leaders and enders area, I'm not sure what Bonnie has called it, but it's the first quilt on this page, the blue and cream one. I've loved it from the first time I saw it.

I'm discovering that it's great to have a 'cut scraps up' goal in my life ... but I need to also have some time to sew the scraps too, because my 'scrap strips' bins are now getting really full! It may be time to get some more bins and sort the scraps into the lights and dark colour values within the different sizes.

Now if someone could come up with a way to piece a few extra hours into our days, everything would be easy!

Another great win at netball this morning, 21-6. The girls are in the semi final next week, so I'll have my fingers and toes crossed for them. A win next week will mean they go straight to the grand final, a loss will give them another chance in the preliminary final the week after. We're so proud of the girls!

That's it from me, have a great weekend everyone!

It's lovely. I'd be interested to hear how you go with the Quilts of Love - I've often thought about making one, but haven't got round to it.

I love that leader and ender quilt too-how will you make it totally scrappy, or same colored scraps?

Wow, cool hugs and kisses. I haven't started mine yet but this just shows that they can look just as effective in more traditional fabrics.
