ADD Quilter?

Yes, you read that correctly, I could be deemed an ADD quilter! Lately I don't seem to be able to rest my mind on any one particular project!

Two days ago I mentioned the scrap quilt that's in my future. It's one of Bonnie's from her leaders and enders area, and I remembered today that it's called 'Blue Ridge Beauty'. Well, having it on my mind a little, I decided that I'd have a little play and made two blocks yesterday. I realllllly like them! This is going to take some willpower to work on the things I must do, and not play some more with these blocks! I used 2" scraps from my scrap bins to create the four patches, and 3.5" strips and my 'easy angle' ruler for the half square triangles. It's very liberating not to have to worry about the 7/8" measurement, this is the first time I've really used the 'easy angle', I wonder why I haven't worked with it before??

I really need to do some more work on the miniature applique project, so I should do some work on that today ... right after I do some housework, the kids totally laid waste to the house this weekend, there are toys everywhere!

On the points counting front, I lost zero this past week! Not a totally unexpected result, as I was not as good as I should have been, so this week I will make an extra effort to be good and maybe even do a little exercise *horror*. This coming week will be mega fun, I'm catching up with a friend I haven't seen since High School!! We bumped into each other at the shop just days before I went to the US, and then I lost her number. I found it again a few weeks ago (on my cutting table of all places!) and we're having lunch together. I can't wait for Thursday!

Hope you've all had a great weekend, I look forward to catching up on you all! :-)

ahh, you may have lost 0, but you held your own. That in and of itself is a victory

I love these blocks. I am curious how you end up setting them together and what secondary design might appear. I think we all have a little ADD--that is why the UFO pile climbs so high.

this will be a wonderful quilt-and I agree, no gain is still a win in my eyes. Enjoy lunch with your friend!

I think more than a few of us are ADD quilters. I know I am. At least that's my excuse for starting so many projects and finishing few. :-)

I do like your blocks and look forward to seeing how you end up setting them together.

oooo - I love those blocks! I'll have to go check out Bonnie's site for that one again - I like it!

I like the blue blocks. It's so hard to have one thing in your mind, when you have to work on something else, even if it's something you like. I've divided my day into hours for working on various projects. It's the only way I can get to everything I want to do!

Lovely blocks - it must be sooo tempting to carry on with them! I use the easy angle ruler for triangles too (thanks to Bonnie) it makes life so much easier when you can cut them out of strips.

Be careful of that exercise stuff... but yes, staying the same is better than putting any on. I too love that quilt you have started. When I saw that as the first quilt on the leader ender page, I caught my breath I was so amazed. It will be great, but it could take over as my 4 patch has.

It is not called an ADD quilter in my book - it is called a curious quilter ;-)
I have a box to put such blocks and find them again when I will make something from them. A block or two from a new pattern can satisfy my curiosity for the moment. Before I would start big, with a full quilt and burn out half way = Ufo. Now I can take the 2 test blocks, make more later or just put them in a randomly pieced backing for adding interest. No weight loss = no gain = good anyway :-) Will you take a challenge ? 1 pound off this week ?

Loving the new scrap project...

Don't worry too much about the non-loss, sometimes your body just needs time to realise that it's supposed to be losing weight (hey it sounds good). Hope you have a great time with your old school pal.

When I used to hit plateaus at WW, the leader would tell me to up my water intake. See if that helps.
Your new project looks really cute. Enjoy the process.

I had to go to Bonnie's site to see the quilt you were referring to. I used that same block in my quilt on my guest bed that I posted recently - mine was just laid out in a different way.

Thanks for coming over to visit me!!

I am also making a version of Bonnie's quilt!! I am doing it in all colors as a scrap quilt, but the same layout as her's for my king size bed! It's an easy one to do and fun to lay out!

Everything look so wonderful! You do very nice work!
