It's outta my hands ...

That's it ... the tiny baby quilt is outta my hands now. It's a wierd feeling putting your quilt into someone else's hands. Will they look after it as I have ... will I see it again ... will it play nicely with others :-) ... anyways, it's in the hands of the show's convenors now, and the next time I see it will be along with lots of other people. Regardless of my result in the show, I had fun making it, and I did the best I could with the design I chose.

I've just wandered into the 'sewing room' (it's a sewing room this weekend, cuz hubby and his guest are away), and this is what I'm faced with ... It just doesn't inspire me to pick up anything and start sewing. The machine is on the other side of the room, and it's still all folded away. Hmmm ... maybe this is a mini creative slump? Or maybe I'm having separation anxiety from the teeny quilt?

I think instead I'll start working the layout for the nine patch quilt on the computer. Linda and I have made up lots of scrappy nine patches over the past year or so to use in the 'Zig Zag Nine Patch' quilt from Bonnie's website. I just need to figure out how many nine patches I need, and how many setting squares and triangles to cut. That'll keep me busy ...

I'm sure I'll be inspired by this evening ... who knows ... I could catch up some reading ...

Just working on the 9-patch may inspire you! Hard when things have been put away to drag them out again. Is this the same group of 9-patch blocks you put up on the blog a month or maybe two ago?

Throw your favorite quilt over the mattresses and tell your self, " It's a room I don't have to pick up fast!!" Look at a couple of books and you'll inspired before you know it.

We all have slumps at times. Mini ones and Maxi ones. I've been in a major slump lately but am slowly getting back into my "just 15 minutes a day". And it's amazing the progress you can make in just that short time. Go ahead and play with your 9-patches. Or just veg out on the couch with a stack of quilt mags. That usually does it for me. :-)

The baby quilt came out wonderfully- perhaps you just need a little break? I'm sure you'll be inspired again soon!

Are those all mattresses on the left there? I think your guest must have been the princess from 'the princess and the pea' lol
