Just a quick question for my lovely readers out there: Is it inappropriate to have my poinsettia's around the house after Epiphany? I use them as part of my Christmas decor, and it feels wrong to banish them outside at the end of the Christmas season when they're still so pretty. Your opinions would be much appreciated :-)
Can you tell I have a special love for blue and white transfer-ware? Note to self: Must.Wind.Clocks.
This afternoon my Mum is coming over, and we'll be Jammin'. Apricot Jam to be precise. It's that time of the year again - and my tree is just groaning. The 'cots in the picture are a little green - they're under the tree - and I'm just a shortie and too lazy to climb the ladder for pictures, but trust me - this afternoon we'll be all over that tree like locusts! Super fun, and I'll share the results soon.

I say use and enjoy those poinsettias as long as possible! Who says they just have to be for Christmas. I keep mine until I kill it off, lol! I don't have even the slightest hint of a green thumb and can't grow anything for long. Love the transferware too.
If you are really concerned, I'll just pop up and collect the poinsettia (together with a few jars of apricot jam) so it can sit on my kitchen counter and brighten my day! Of course you can leave it out - there are no seasonal decoration police, only quilt police!
hugs, Lizzy
Leave the poinsettia in the house for a while - mine is!
The poinsettia's can be planted in the garden! I placed mine outside when it stopped freezing, and they lived long enough to have flowers again! They just don't stand well after frost. And look very nice with bleubells combination ;^}

I think it's never inappropriate to decorate with beautiful plants no matter the season or the plant! Enjoy it as long as possible. And it looks STUNNING next to your beautiful blue setting!
If you lived in Canada it would be far too cold to put the poinsettia's outside so they stay inside and are enjoyed as long as possible.
It looks so pretty there next to all the blue and white it would be a shame to move it.
My decorations are put away on New Year's Eve, by tradition, but the poinsettia stays!
That poinsettia looks beautiful with your blue/white. Leave it. :) I had a friend that kept hers' year round. That jam will be scrumptious!
I'm not sure where you live - but I live in the US. When we were in California poinsettias grew to be 6 feet or more tall. They were out all year because it is a warm climate. Now we live in NH - we don't think about celebrating Epiphany, and so we just keep the poinsettias indoors until they stop blooming.
I love my poinsettias and keep them going as long as I can. Some years I have had them all the way into March.
Apricot jam is DH's favorite: wish we lived close so we could come get some.
