I tried so hard ...

... to get this top finished today. I came close - I only have the half and quarter blocks to put around the edge now, but it's getting late, and I've had a couple of glasses of red. I think I'll have to leave the rest until tomorrow.

We had an unexpected dinner party tonight which was really fun. The friends that came over have kids around the same age as ours, so it means our kids can have fun together too. Marty only organised it at 4.30pm, so I had to quickly get the house 'company ready' and then think about what we were going to eat. Lucky I had purchased a little extra when I shopped last, just in case of this kind of emergency!

If I have to give up any sewing time, this is the kind of thing I'm happy to give it up for :-) How is your weekend going? x o x

Your quilt is looking lovely. I think impromptu dinner parties are the best kind. So much less stress and prep. The best friends are the kind that take you as you are and don't expect a huge effort on your part.

Hi Tazzie, the Star Stuck is looking spectacular...*VBS* Best not to work on it with tooo many glasses of red...LOL

I'm a huge fan of red and brown, so of course it's a home run with me! I read down through the Thimbleberries coasters..you've been a busy lady, as always.
I especially like your 4 tree table runner. I've never done that block, will have to give it a try ala Bonnie. Can't wait to see what you are up to next. Hugs, Finn

Star Struck is gorgeous, Tazzie. What size are the blocks? Love the way the square in a square fills out the blocks with those various reds...

Another great quilt top, Tazzie! Whenever I try to sew after having a glass or two of red, I end up bonding with my seam ripper more than my sewing machine!! LOL

This is turning out just wonderful - I knew it would when I saw the earlier postings.

Boy, you mentioning that glass of red, got me to think that's a first-rate idea! There's some in the frig, that really needs to get 'used up'!

Happy sewing - thank for the 'red' idea.

That is a beautiful quilt. The colors really shimmer. Sounds like your dinner party was a good reason to put it aside.

The quilt top looks lovely, and I love the new table runner. If you have to lose sewing time, then losing it to friends is probably the best way to lose it.
