Block 13 = Success!
Finally! I spent some of this morning unpicking and resewing this block, before I realised that it was just too far gone and I'd need to start again.

You know what they say about #13 - unlucky for some :-). I'm glad you had success eventually, and I'm sure the orphan block will end up as a coaster or something similar and useful. #13 is my LUCKY number!!
