Ready to sew down the binding

Here is Winchester Weave, all ready for me to take along to quilt group today and sew down the back of the binding.

I had a lot of fun quilting this quilt, I did small stippling in the main body of the quilt, and a kind of swirly circle wave kinda thingy in the inner border. Does that make any sense, or resemble anything like English??

I have hand quilted for 14 years, and I've only been maching quilting on my domestic machine for 2, so I'm still learning every time I undertake a new project, and I'm happy to report that with each project I become a little braver and try something new. I figure the only way I'll learn more and more is to push myself to try something different each time. I never thought when I first started free-motion quilting that I'd get to enjoy the process, but hey presto, I really like it now! And the quilts sure get finished faster than when I hand quilted everything!

I had a response from Bloglines today, they have been very helpful. They have re-set the blogs I get no updates from, so I'll see if that solves the problem. Melanie told me yesterday that unsubscribing from a blog, and then subscribing again works. I have subscribed to my own blog, so I'll be able to report back and let you know if I can see updates myself. Could be back to the good-old-days of cruising around the rings. Let me know if you have any solutions that have worked for you ... of course if you see this post *s*

For my friends in the US, Happy Thanksgiving. I hope your day is filled with family, friends, fun and food!

Hi, Tazzie,

Well, Bloglines told me you'd updated your blog this morning, and they didn't lie! The quilting on the Winchester Weave quilt looks spectacular...I'm at that funny point in my free motion experience where I'm apprehensive when I start, exhilirated when it goes well, and disappointed at all the mistakes! Looks like you're WELL beyond that!

Have you melted from the heat yet? It was 39 degrees when we went up to Eastern Creek to visit the cats at the quarantine facility. I'm hoping it's cooled off a bit from that today. The bush fires in NSW are really bad, though...

I haven't had any problem with your updates of today, Tazzie. I am encouraged by your feeling of making progress with machine quilting...and that you actually enjoy it now! LOL I'm still in the very baby stages of machine quilting so...hopefully I'll become more comfortable with it in time. :D

Your quilting looks great! I love machine quilting and am slowly but surely trying new things with following design lines. I particularly like your mitered corner that shows in the photo - they always make a quilt look so neat. Enjoy the binding - it's so satisfying doing that part of it - it means you're almost done.

PS : Bloglines told me you'd updated .... hope their problems are all sorted out.

I think what you had Bloglines do for you worked for me as well. All of a sudden a lot of my subscribed blogs have updates including yours which I hadn't shown updated for about 4 posts.

I'm getting your updates. Still don't think mine is working...time will tell. I love your machine quilting. For me I think I just need practice.
Happy thanksgiving...

I have pretty much stopped using bloglines since IE7 has come out - it has an area for feeds and shows updated ones.

I absolutely love the border you chose for this quilt. How wonderful to have another finished project!

I am looking forward to see the finished quilt :-)
Yesterday bloglines showed you updated again, and again this morning - like many of the other beta bloggers. Maybe they have found a beta blogger cure?

Reading you loud and clear through Firefox. I got so fed up with Bloglines I cleared out the ones with the broken feeds and transferred to Firefox.

Beautiful quilt and quilting

I don't use bloglines either, so have had not troubles, also a firefox user. :)

Love the quilt. How long did it take you to become proficient at machine quilting? and did you take a class?

That lovely Tazzie. I am a beginner at machine quilting so your success and enthusiasm is encouraging.

I think the word "thingy," is most useful!

I got your blog updated today and I think that's because I deleted you from bloglines and then subscribed you againg. I will try to do that with the rest too, because I will not miss anything going on.
I have started to machinquilt some quilts too. But still I handquilt the one I fancy most.
