40 + 60 = 100 blocks

Well now, that didn't take as long as I thought it might! I already had 40 of the blue and cream blocks made, and yesterday I finished the other 60. I now have my 100 blocks ready to put together the blue and cream quilt top. Strike one off the list of goals for this month! :-)

I'm not going to put the top together just yet though, I have some other things I need to get to first. Yesterday I received an email from the magazine letting me know that they would like to commission the Winchester Weave quilt for the magazine, and my deadline is 13 December (hey, that's Amy's birthday).

The top of that quilt is complete and it's at the quilt store, I just need to get it back and quilt it, and then complete the directions. That means the goal of 'complete one quilt to binding' will undoubtedly be the Winchester Weave quilt. The on sale date for that magazine will be April 13, so keep your eyes peeled for Australian Patchwork and Quilting around that time!

Oh how wonderful that you've got a commission - please don't forget to remind us all (I'm sure you'll remember - LOL) when the issue comes out. There are a couple of bookstores in my area which sell the magazine so I'd love to get a copy of it.

How cool that you'll have another quilt in the magazine!! The blue and white blocks look great - so neat - no littel threads to be seen!

Seems like the blue and natural colourway is very popular right now - can't wait to see how all those blocks look together - I take my hat off to you girls who can just stitch, stitch, stitch a pile of the same blocks - I get so bored and easily distracted doing a task like that (yes, it really does feel like a huge task to me) guess that's why I never do quilts with the same block allover but I do so like them once they're done. How exciting getting your quilt in a magazine, I love your Australian patchwork magazines and pick a copy up occasionally when I see one over here but you don't often see them in the shops and I can't justify a subscription. Good luck with getting the magazine quilt finished in time :o)

I will buy the magazine when it arrives in my quilt shop. How fun.
The blocks you are doing are great. It will be a beautiful quilt. I have not been a "blue" person, but lately I have started to use blue in my quilts and I now I love the colour.
