Ready, Set ... Go!!!

Quilting on Mrs Billings coverlet has begun, and I'm thrilled with how it's coming along already. Getting up close and personal with all the little bits and pieces and deciding how to quilt them is really fun.

While I was stitching just now, I found a little area that had come undone. I'll have to applique it down to secure it - you can just see it there on the left side of the square, by the lighter floral fabric. I'm sure there will be lots of little bits and pieces that will need fixing up as I go along.

This is going to take a looooong time ... hopefully I'll still be able to find interesting things to share with you over the next several months. I'm  heading back to the quilting hoop, chatter soon! xox

occasionally little pieces come undone. I had that happen on a quilt awhile back - I thought it was all perfect and then I washed and dried it and as I was smoothing it out on the bed I found a couple applique pieces had frayed - I obviously had stitched it too close to an edge I guess - I was able to fix it as you will be able to fix yours. Mrs. Billings is a beautiful quilt. What kind of hoop do you use? I have both a floor standing 3 roller frame and a hoop - I enjoy using both of them!

Looks great! Are you using a stencil for the quilting pattern or being super clever and free-handing?

It looks wonderful. Have you ever had difficulty getting the blue lines out? I've heard mixed reviews about using them.
