Today I finally did something I've been wanting to do for AGES!
I have had a Thimbleberries quilt on the wall in my family room for such a long time, and it had gotten to the point where I was beyond sick of seeing it, I was beginning to strongly dislike the quilt. The hanging sleeve wasn't really put on properly so it had become saggy, and I don't really think it was big enough for the wall.
Though you can't really see in the picture below, on the left side of the TV, there are some ugly cables hanging out of the antenna socket. How nice it would be to have them covered up. So, today was the day.
My 'Turning Four-T' quilt was the one I really wanted to put up, and it needed a hanging sleeve. Done. Next I took the offending quilt down - and had to move the hooks and find a larger dowel. Done and done :-) And ewww, the old quilt needed a wash, badly! Also done!I have had a Thimbleberries quilt on the wall in my family room for such a long time, and it had gotten to the point where I was beyond sick of seeing it, I was beginning to strongly dislike the quilt. So, now you see one of my favourite quilts hanging in the family room. Offending cables and antenna socket covered, and I'm so pleased to have something different to look at. And now that I think about it, even the colours are more appealing.
Ohhh, and the kids haven't even noticed yet ... I wonder how long it'll take :-)

What a lovely quilt... and what a great use of it... to cover electronic cables and such! Looks fantastic...
It will be interesting to find out how long it take anyone to notice...
:)
pretty quilt. I have one hanging in my living room and occasionally change it out as well - it always needs washing by then too!

Great choice for your wall. I think we need to change out what's on our walls every once it a while. And I always laugh when someone says "it's going to be a wall hanging so it will never be washed." They must live in a very different kind of house than I do. ;-)
I fink the first quilt was nicer, but hey, who am I to judge.
This quilt looks great and gives me purpose... I am in a DBL T 6" block exchange. We just started and now you have given me inspiration!

Nice change. I like the way the new quilt looks more balanced with the TV and the lamps.
Beautiful colors.
Like the change...the size is much better! I like to rotate quilts every season though there is a red, white and blue behind out TV that my DH will not let me take down. Looks a bit strange during Christmas but for the summer it works great!
Great way to see if the kids are looking. I like how you hung it close to the wall. Do you have the dowel supported by something other than a nail? Pretty quilt to keep your wall warm, LOL.
We just had a new tv installed in our living room, and it sets on a long table. I was planning on doing the same thing, and now I can see that I was right - this looks fabulous!
I think the new quilt is a much better size and theme for behind you television. It looks wonderful!
Looks wonderful, Tazzie! I like to change my artwork around too because it looks new and different just by moving it to another wall.
It looks fantastic
gorgeousness muchly-looks like it was made to go there, can't wait till I have a house where I can hang some works on the walls, cheers Vickie
