While I was in the USA recently, my wonderful friend Linda gave me a fabulous gift , it was a kit she'd made up. It included the most vibrant Kaffe Fassett fabrics, two black and white prints and a pattern by Artichoke Collection called Urban Chic.
Yesterday I started putting the blocks together, and I'm simply loving my progress. It's super easy piecing, and the simple design allows the wonderful fabrics to shine.
I just have to stitch the blocks into rows, and then the rows together and I can start working on the borders. I think I'll make up a different border treatment for this quilt, but it's gone together so quickly to this point that I can have fun playing and not feel that I'm wasting precious sewing time. Happy days!!

Really like that pattern! It looks like a lot of fun. It must be a bit of a relief after the nearly insane block you just finished! Have a good one. Lurking Linda

Boy, you are right. The black/white really makes the Kaffe fabrics shine. A very happy quilt.
That's a great pattern! The turning 40 and the nearly insane block are wonderful as well.
How adorable is that quilt?! Aren't quilty friends the best? Nice job, Tazzie. Thanks for sharing!
Hugs!
That is one stunning quilt- I love the contrast of black/white with the Kaffe fabrics. Is the pattern one of your design or is it a commercial pattern?
I have been collecting Kaffe fabrics for awhile and really do like this setting.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful quilt.
Regards,
Anna

Tazzie,
I just have to tell you I absolutely love your blog. It's obvious you are a seriously devoted quilter and remind me soooo much of Bonnie Hunter. Your work just looks perfect. ( I want to be you when I grow up!!!)
Happy Quilting!!!
Tazzie! This rocks. I totally dig it. Yippie
I think Kaffe fabrics look good anywhere, but they really pop when used with the black and white. Great quilt!!!
I can understand why you love that kit :-) I would too.
That's so nice and summery and not at all overwhelming (which I sometimes find Fasset to be). Love it, x
