Scrap Bag

Quite a while back I placed an order at Hancocks of Paducah, a Moda Scrap Bag being one of the items. I guess they were out of stock at the time, as I quickly received the rest of my order. I duly forgot about the scrap bag - until last week when a little parcel arrived.

It really is the cutest thing. I thought they were leftovers from when they make jelly rolls, so I was very puzzled when all my strips have selvedges attached. It took me a while to figure out that these must be the leftover edges from charm square packs and layer cakes. Makes sense when you think of the maths involved.

Now, I need more fabric like a hole in the head, but the dedicated scrapper that I am, I know I'm going to have fun with these strips!

Ohhh, and I have to report that the Peach Pound Cake from my last post was a huge success. There are no photographs - I'm sure you can imagine that it barely had time to cool from the oven before it was devoured!

I'm sure it will be gorgeous, what ever it becomes. Will you lave the selvedges on? That seems to be quite fashionable at the moment.

I just recently started saving selvedge edges. Don't know what I will do with them. I did see a purse made with them that looked interesting.

I've tossed out so many selveges and now I see these adorable little projects everywhere. But you know, something has to go, give or whatever! Looks like a fun little scrap bag and the quilt in the last post is wonderful too!!!

What a nice surprise. And isn't it fun to see people gobbling up what you have cooked :-)

Did you see the Moda Bake Shop blog entry about the quilt using the scrap bags with selvages exposed? Cute!

I'd always wondered what was in the scrap bags... Was it all of one collection?

What a cool idea - a scrap bag! It sounds almost like inspiration in a bottle for a scrapper like you! Can't wait to see what beautiful quilty goodness you come up with.

And do you need to be teasing a pregnant girl with baked goods? I don't think so! lol
