Chris' Crosses

One of the lovely ladies from the quilt store made up a quilt using cross blocks, and it was just delightful. She put me on to the pattern, and I knew I'd be making some crosses of my own in no time.

The pattern called for 3" strips and squares, but because I don't cut that size for my scrap boxes, I decided to use my 2.5" scraps instead.

I made myself a promise today that I could spend up until midday in the sewing room, and then after that I need to do chores. Most especially - clean Camo's room. Something I really have to psyche myself up to. I've got 12 more minutes to myself ... wonder if I can crank out one more block!

Thank you so much Chris - I'm going to be calling my quilt "Chris' Crosses".

I spot some duck fabric. Didn't you use some on the back of a quilt a while back?
The cross blocks are lovely.

I'm always amazed at the wonderfully creative ways you use your scraps and strips. This block is so effective. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Oh Tazzie! I'm in trouble-love again. I really need to make one of these. Oh dear. You know how lovely this would look with the stash. Imagine... ;) I would make myself a promise today that I could spend up until midday sewing then I do chores. Or at least until the dogs and cats started bothering me. Hmmm. Now to find this block. Well, that could take a bloomin' day. But I might get lucky. Sometimes that happens.

Thank you Tazzie. I think I'd call mine "Crossed my Heart." hee.

I love this old fashioned block! Using your precut 2 1/2 strips is sure a timesaver. Do they also work for the triangles or are those a different size scrap?

Very cute! I'm impressed that you stopped quilting to clean. I need to do some around here (cleaning that is).

Tazzie, I am amazed at the amount of quilting you do and all of your work is beautiful. Thanks for inspiring me. Any chance you could give cutting instructions for the cross? Thanks , Sandra in Georgia

That is a great block. Sure would use up the strips. How will you set them together? with sashing or just together? Haven't stopped for awhile so had to catch up on what you are doing.
