As promised this morning, here is my progress for the day. I managed to get the quilt basted (well, pinned) before 11.30am, so this afternoon after picking up the kids, I got a start on the quilting. I decided to do a cute little something in the setting squares, and meander along in the nine patches. I'm sure when I'm a more experienced quilter I'll do even more adventurous quilting, but for now I'm happy with how I'm progressing.
While basting the quilt, Holly kept scampering across first the backing fabric on the floor, and then the batt, so I'd have to keep on smoothing it out. Then when I placed the top down she ran across repeatedly and skidded around catching it with her claws. It was super cute at first, then less cute, and eventually I had to put her in my bedroom, cuz I just didn't need any more reasons to procrastinate over this quilt!
And here she is helping me out while I quilt ... what a little cutie. She is growing so fast, and is already losing that little kitty face. I guess she's more of an pre-teen kitty now. I suppose she must be around 12 weeks old?
Well, I'm heading back to the machine now - I'll keep on quilting while the inspiration is with me. Have a great day! x o x

Have fun --- I remember when my kids were little I'd get up an hour early on Tues and Thurs just to get the chores done so I could play while they were in kinderdarten and preschool. You'll have so much fun.
I just love scrap quilts and this one is going to be wonderful. I like that design that you are using in the setting squares. I've used that one on a couple of quilts and it always looks nice.
Love how you are quilting the alternate squares... & kitty is soooo cute!
It is looking good Tazzie. Realy is. You have more patience than me, the cat would have been in the bedroom from the start! Lol.

It's looking really good. I too would have had the cat in the bedroom long before you did.
Pre-teen kitty at 12 weeks - very cute. She just wanted to play. Quilt looks great, I would think you are a very accomplished machine quilter.
It's looking good, Tazzie!
Holly is adorable!
GREAT progress on the quilt, Tazzie. It's looking really great, and I can't wait to see it all finished.
And Holly is just adorable. Don't they grow up FAST?!
The kitty is so cute!
I'm also stripping a lot of fabric. I think it's a good way to get organized.
The scrap quilt is going to be really pretty. I LOVE scrap quilts!
LOVE your quilt, Tazzie, and Holly is absolutely adorable!!! :D
The quilt and quilting are looking very good and your little quilt helper is a heart melter :-)
Looks like the inspiration was with you today, the quilting looks so neat.
The quilting looks great! Having just learned how much I suck at that type of quilting, I am in total awe of what you can do on your machine.
I started quilting when my cat was quite old, so it wasn't too hard to teach him to stay off the quilt, as a kitten she should be trainable.
I love scrappy quilts. My cat is over 14 years and still plays on my fabrics when I'm trying to quilt. She likes the attention I give her when she's in my way.
oh she's such a sweetie pie. pokey was making me nuts the last time I was basting a quilt, but it was easier to toss her off of a table, than it would have been to keep her off a quilt on the floor. Love your little cat. The quilting looks great too!
Your kitty has such a sweet little face. She looks like she's plotting her next move in the photo. Great job on your progress on the quilt. I love the design in the setting block. Are you doing this on a regular sewing machine?
That quilting design in the sold block is so cool. I wish I had a cat, but everyone here is allergic...Oh well, can't have everything...smile...sort of...
