Hooray, I'm just thrilled, I've completely finished my Farmers Wife Sampler Top. I attached three of the borders last night, and then the last one today. The last miter was done just minutes ago. As you can see from the picture below, I need to give the top a good press, but once that's done, this baby is moving on to the next stage of it's journey.
It's not easy to see the border fabric in the picture, but it's a pretty border stripe from the same range as the fabric in the sashing strips. If I remember, I'll share a closer picture soon.
I'm just so thrilled to be able to work on something different for a change, I've really focused on this project lately. In my mind I've started working on a Christmas block exchange to put in the mail - a 1600 quilt from my 2.5" scrap bin, and I can get busy on Mrs Billings again. Happy days! :-)

That's amazing Tazzie. I don't know how you stay sane making quilts with all those tiny pieces.
Seriously!!! It looks amazing! I'm just thinking about getting started on my FWQ and this is such an inspiration. Beautiful work!!!
How Beautiful! I've been following your blocks on the FWS yahoo group and only found your blog today. Your top looks stunning and has inspired me to get back to my blocks asap. I look forward to following your blog Thanks x
It is fabulous. I've really enjoyed watching you make the blocks.
'swonderful, 'smarvellous, i can't believe what you have achieved with your limited pallet. I need to practice restraint if the results are as good as this.
I have also watched your journey of making these blocks. The color scheme is delightful!!! Most of the ones I have seen, have been all different civil war scrappy type/or country colors. The sashing is perfect for the blocks. The added dimension of the stripes and color really draw your eye from block to block. Always amazed at how much you get done!! I will keep watching for Mrs. Billings quilt block rounds--also would like to try this quilt top. Congrats on a wonderful finish. Judy
Popping in from the FWQ Yahoo Group.
Looks great. I love how you restricted the fabrics and colours you used. It works really well. Congrats on the finish
Oh my goodness, that looks fantastic! Congrats on a great finish!!
Fantastic! The completed top looks great. Will you hand quilt it?
It is amazing how you can whip through these complex sampler quilts. What is 1600? What is Mrs. Billings?
Total gorgeousness! Congratulations on your FW flimsy finish!
It looks wonderful! Your choice of fabrics is lovely, and I really envy your ability to focus on a project until it is done! And your piecing is always perfect. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, it is stunning! Nice job.
This is simply gorgeous....when I look at it the first two things that come into my mind is Iced Vovo biscuits and coconut ice :)
Tazzie, it is fantastic! Hooray for a finish to flimsy. I love your pink striped sashing fabrics and your carrying the darkest fabric in your blocks out to the cornerstones.
Well done! I have enjoyed watching you complete your quilt blocks in recent months. Surely whatever you have planned next will be just as interesting!
Wow, Tazzie, that is amazing!! Great job! I love the colors you chose. It really came together very nicely. :)

I keep coming back to admire you FWQ, I love the palette, I had been thinking I wanted to do a Dear Jane but seeing your FWQ has changed my mind - I would really love to achieve one like this, on point just adds to the charm.

Woooo hooooo !!!!
Wow, that look fantastic, makes me want to get back to working more on mine.
Seeing your finished quilt top gave me the impetus to get my blocks finished.
Your FW looks stunning Tazzie, I love the stripe fabric you used in the sashing, for some reason it reminds me of a dress in Regency times (Pride and Prejudice)
Beautiful! Congratulations on getting it finished. What a huge accomplishment.
