Star Happy

It is said that sometimes a change is as good as a holiday, and I totally needed a change on the cutting table. I have grown tired of quilting, quilting and more quilting - and the projects I've been working on of my own have become stale in my eyes, so I grabbed a project box that I haven't looked in for a while.

This is a Judy Martin quilt - from her Star Happy book. It's super cute, and fits my love of using up scraps just perfectly. I think Linda and I are going to exchange these blocks at some point, maybe I'll have enough made to do that when I visit with her next year.

I only made up the two little stars you see in front, just to satisfy my piecing urge, but I've gotten a lot of the pieces cut out of the blues and creams I had put aside. I won't be able to play with it for too long - but hopefully I won't put it aside for quite so long this time :-)

oh this is a great quilt, making a block here and there over the next few crazy weeks will get the quilt done before you know it.
Simple block a time , 20 min of sewing at a time and you will see progress...
good luck

Oh why yes, yes, yes! ...and look at the scrap fabrics. Can I just say "yum!" 10 times fast? Well, how about 2 times. I might pass out otherwise. hee. Warmly and with a nice big hug, *karendianne.

I'm partial to stars in my quilts so I obviously love this! The colors look great too. I think we all need a change now and again to keep those creative juices flowing!

It may be only 2 blocks, but they are looking good! Your color sense is always wonderful! I still have a printing of one of your quilts that I am using for color inspiration for another quilt. 8-)))

I love stars too and yours are looking good already. Judy Martin is an inspiration.

Love the Judy Martin books. What a great pairing -- her pattern and your delicious scrappy creations. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

That is a beautiful quilt - I was tempted to start that one too. I still have to finish my SITP first though.

I have always loved this quilt, but so far not gotten around to making it. I will watch your progress, maybe that will finally get me in gear.

Isn't it funny how quilt projects (like food) become stale if left out for too long, and we get bored of working on them. Good for you for changing it up...I love that Star quilt pattern. I've made a wallhanging size in the past, but really enjoyed sewing it.
