If I'm a really good girl, I'll get some of the top assembled tonight, and then I can get busy thinking about how I'd like to quilt it.
There were a couple of the blue fabrics that I ran very short of, so I scrimped and saved and pieced some components just like quilters of yore. Don't you think little elements like that add to the interest of the quilt??
I do love that practice of piecing the pieces :-). Looks good, Tazzie.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing just what our ancestors did to finish their quilts!
ReplyDeletePiecing the pieces is a great way to go. Besides, what a good way to use up the bits! Can't wait to see the quilt...
ReplyDeleteThis will be such a pretty quilt! I always feel very proud when I can use up little bits in this manner. And an extra seem doesn't bother me a bit!
ReplyDeleteI have pieced pieces, too, but usually because I cut wrong. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've got an antique quilt top that has multiple pieces sewn to make up triangles or parts of squares--it is a jumbled mess up close but from even a couple of feet away really is not noticeable. I like it's funkiness. Can't wait to see your quilt top completed.
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be beautiful , looking forward to seeing it all .
ReplyDeleteOh I love this quilt, will you be making the pattern available? Thanks..
